Mirai integrates with Takyon: resellable rates for your bookings

En español.

At Mirai, we continue to expand our integrations with third-party services and capabilities. If you’re interested in exploring the possibility of resellable rates, Mirai is now integrated with Takyon.

mirai integration takyon

Takyon is a platform that allows users to resell rooms booked at non-refundable rates. This gives the traveller greater flexibility and the ability to resell the booking to other users on the Takyon platform in the event of a change of plans.

How does our integration with Takyon work?

By setting up a new “Resellable Rate” you will be creating a prepaid, non-refundable but somewhat flexible rate. This rate can only be booked on hotel websites and allows travellers to resell their booking in the event of a change of plans.

When booking a stay with a Resellable Rate on a Takyon partner hotel website, the user will receive an email with their Tak. A Tak is a digital asset or token based on blockchain technology that gives ownership of the reservation to its holder, who can freely exchange, resell and transfer it. With this Tak, the user will be able to access the Takyon platform to manage and resell their booking if their plans change. Hotels that choose to offer Takyon’s resellable rates may opt to repurchase their hotel’s booking if a customer decides to sell it, and charge a commission for the sale of each of their hotel’s resellable bookings made on Takyon’s platform, which has a positive impact on their revenue.

We have already received feedback from two hotels that have initiated this collaboration.

Hotel Bécquer

In the three months since the launch, Hotel Bécquer has increased sales of its Resellable Rate (previously non-refundable) by 9% compared to the same period in 2023, so that it now accounts for 14% of bookings compared to 6% previously. Hotel nights booked at the Resellable Rate have doubled compared to the volume achieved from July to September last year.

Hotel Kivir

In this case, the percentage of bookings with the Resellable Rate has grown by 5% compared to 2023, reaching 15% of total bookings. Hotel nights booked at this rate have increased by 57% compared to last year.

According to the company that owns both hotels, the implementation of Takyon’s solution has given greater visibility to the former non-refundable rate and generated greater confidence among its customers: “Cases where a customer has needed to resell their booking have been successful. They have been able to do this independently without our help because the platform is intuitive and user-friendly.”
